I started off with this comic series years ago in 2002. At first, I really can’t think of a better title.

After much consideration, I came up with a corny one which symbolizes ‘hip’ and ‘cool’ image for my comic.

Instantly, I also came up with 4 main characters.

Ah Mei 阿妹~ She is the female lead, the actress, the beauty queen, the celebrity and the socialite.

Yijian 伊健~ Classmate of Ah Mei. The lazy bum with attitude and boyish charm.

Xiaofan 小凡~ Good friend of Ah Mei. She adores Ah Mei like an idol and has a slight crush on Yijian.

Ah Long 阿龙 ~ He is a womanizer. Haha, just kidding…. I din draw much of him anyway.

Of course, there are other characters that bring out the story.

Ah Ge 阿哥 and Ah Jie 阿姐

Wasn’t a full debut after all.

Yijian truly likes to argue with her.

The day Ah Mei received a complaint/critic. I did too!

I decided to introduce a new character called “Rong Rong” 荣荣.

He adores Ah Mei like a Goddess.

I think Ah Mei has a problem here.

Then I decided to move on to some local topics to create a stronger punch-line.

I realized diners like to place tissue on tables to “chope” seats in hawker centres.

And then, Chinese New Year was here.

It was mentioned that once you have an income, you have the right to give out ang pows.

A stronger costar was needed to bring out status of the main character.

I chose Xiaofan because I really enjoyed drawing her.

Beckham’s hairstyle rocked the worldcup season.

Guys just can’t get enough of soccer.

New-water given out to public during National Day. It tasted… a bit funny.

A war that never started.

I saw people started stacking up rice sacks and stocking up canned food. Amusing.

It was a bad year. Unemployment rate was one of the highest I think.

“Toilet” humour. Not good.

The only time I drew all of them together.

Ah Mei and the rests are still schooling.

Teacher’s day. I know, you’ve heard and seen this before.

Stardom has paid its price. Ah Mei headed for the Star Awards….

A good suggestion if you hate crowds.

I have problem with the countless 1-cent coins and this is the perfect solution I’ve thought of.

Celebrity’s autographs should have an unique style. Practice makes perfect.

AVA decided to put down stray cats for the fear of spreading SARS virus to humans.
